Character Artist, Next Generation Consoles, and PC
Location: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
Kitazaru, a Sanzaru Games company located in Ottawa, ON., Canada has an immediate Character Artist position working on next generation console & PC games. Only developers who want to craft immersive experiences and breathtaking worlds need apply.
Responsibilities:
• Creates characters following concept art from sculpting to game engine ready
• Paints textures and builds materials to corresponding assets
• Develops, experiments, and advances characters using the latest techniques & software
• Maintains, improves, and advances the assets
• Understands the art pipeline and integrates assets into the game engine (Unreal)
• Understands the hardware limitations and common techniques
• Works directly with leads & other artists, designers, and engineers


Experience/Skills:
• 2+ years of industry experience
• Very strong understanding of form, color, composition, mechanics, and physics

Senior Character Artist, Next Generation Consoles, and PC

Responsibilities:

Rigger/Technical Artist, Next Generation Consoles, and PC
Location: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
Kitazaru, a Sanzaru Games company located in Ottawa, ON., Canada has an immediate Rigger/ Technical Artist position working on next generation console & PC games. Only developers who want to follow the yellow brick road need apply (just checking!).
Responsibilities:
• Design and create animator friendly rigs focused on character/ creatures with expressive facial animation
• Collaborate with animators to design motion controls
• Work with artists to create models that meet technical needs
• Work with Technical Directors and the development team to create Unreal Engine friendly rigs
• Maintains, improves, and advances the motion and deformation system
• Develop new techniques and processes to solve character production challenges
• Communicate information about new tools and techniques and maintain documentation when required
• Understands the hardware limitations and common techniques
• Works directly with leads & other artists, designers, and engineers


Experience/Skills:
• 2+ years of industry experience rigging characters for animation
• Very strong understanding of form, color, composition, mechanics, and physics
• Previous experience with character rigging in Maya

World/Environment Artist for Xbox One, PS4, and PC
Sanzaru Games is looking for a visionary World and Environment Artist to join our cutting edge, experienced development team in crafting visually stunning and immersive worlds. We are interested in all levels of experience, from junior to senior artists. As a World and Environment Artist, you will work directly with the game directors and discipline leads to help define breathtaking AAA scenery.
Responsibilities:
• Creates and stages worlds and scenery to set the tone, vision, and storytelling
• Constructs 3d environments to include modeling, mapping, materials, lighting, effects , atmospherics, collision, and tagging
• Develops, experiments, and advances the environments by innovating new techniques
• Manages all the assets and data associated with the environments
• Thoroughly understands the art pipeline and integrates assets into the game

VFX Artist – for Virtual Reality, Next Generation Consoles, and PC
Location - Foster City, CA
Sanzaru Games Inc. has an immediate VFX Artist position working on virtual reality, next generation console, and PC games. Only developers who want to craft the most spectacular immersive experiences need apply!
Responsibilities:
• Create a wide range of high quality visual effects
• Optimize effects for performance while retaining look
• Work closely with the Art Director and concept artists to maintain visual consistency
• Troubleshoot and provide solutions to visual effects related issues
• Participate in R&D efforts to develop new techniques and improve the VFX pipeline


Experience/Skills:
• 3+ years experience in the game industry with at least one shipped title as a VFX artist
• Proven track record of creating high quality particle effects and materials

UI Artist – for Virtual Reality, Next Generation Consoles, and PC

Responsibilities:
• Create and implement fresh, easy to understand interfaces wrapped in beautiful visuals
• Work closely with Art Leads to develop concepts, mockups, storyboards, and game assets
• Work closely with designers and engineers to implement UI structure, flow, and player messaging
• Creates a broad range of UI game assets including icons, fonts, backgrounds, animation, and effects
• Refine, improve, and optimize interface pipeline and process into next generation technology
• Develops, experiments, and advances UI using the lasting techniques & software
• Maintains, improves, and advances the UI game assets
• Understands hardware limitations and best techniques ensuring optimal quality


Experience/Skills:
• 3+ years of industry experience with outstanding portfolio

Gameplay Engineer – for Virtual Reality, Next Generation Consoles, and PC
Location - Foster City, CA
Sanzaru Games Inc. has an immediate Gameplay Engineer position working on virtual reality, next generation console, and PC games. Only developers who want to craft immersive experiences and bring gameplay to life should apply.
Responsibilities:
• Constructing gameplay systems from the ground up
• Quickly iterating over gameplay systems based on team input
• Debugging and optimizing gameplay systems
• Thinking creatively and critically to expand user experiences into new virtual reality medium
• Working closely with other engineers to contribute on game architecture and technical design


Experience/Skills:
• At least 3 years of industry experience
• At least 1 shipped game title
• Proficient in C++
• Strong 2D/3D math skills
• Competent physics knowledge
• Working knowledge of Unreal 4 a big plus!
• Ability to collaborate with team members to bring gameplay to life

• BS Computer Science or equivalent experience
