Environment Artist

Dublin, CA

Sanzaru is looking for talented World Architects and Environment Artists to join our cutting edge, experienced development team in crafting visually stunning and immersive worlds. We are interested in all levels of experience, from junior to senior artists.

As a World Architect or Environment Artist, you will work directly with the game directors and discipline leads to help define breathtaking AAA scenery.

Responsibilities:

• Create worlds and stage scenery to set the tone and vision.

• Constructs 3d environments to include modeling, mapping, materials, lighting, VFX, atmospherics, collision, and gameplay related setups.

• Develop, experiment, and advance the environments by innovating new techniques.

• Manage all the assets and data associated with the environments.

• Thoroughly understand the art pipeline and integrates assets into the game.

• Thoroughly understand the hardware limitations and common techniques.

• Work directly with other artists, designers, and engineers to complete environments.

Experience/Skills:

• 2+ years of industry experience working on different platforms.

• Working knowledge of Photoshop, Substance, Maya, and/or other 3D software.

• Strong sense for architecture and natural scenery including form, color, and composition.

• Ability to manage and maintain entire world assets.

• Architectural background and/or related field a big plus!

• Working knowledge of Unreal & Unity a big plus!

• Ability to multi-task and adapt easily to change.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact effectively.

UI Technical Artist

Dublin, CA

Sanzaru Games Inc. is looking for an amazing UI Technical Artist to work closely with our design and engineering team on implementation for our VR and AAA projects.

Responsibilities:

• Develop functional UI prototypes in Unreal Engine to quickly iterate on design ideas and bring UI Concepts to life.

• Work closely with Engineering and other disciplines to implement UI features into the game with a high level of polish and consistency.

• Implement Unreal Blueprint and Material solutions to bridge the gap between functionality from code and visuals in the game.

• Help establish pipelines and manage UI assets in Unreal Engine so they are well optimized for performance and visual fidelity.

• Establish and document technical standards and best practices.

• Continually test and debug the UI throughout development.

Experience/Skills:

• 3 or more years of experience as a Technical Artist or UI Artist managing implementation.

• Experience working in AAA games or VR strongly preferred.

• Experience with Unreal Engine or extensive experience with comparable next gen game engine.

• Experience with Photoshop and Illustrator as well as knowledge of 3D programs such as Maya, or 3DS Max.

• Good understanding of graphics optimization practices.

• Excellent communication and organization skills.

• Motion graphics, 3D, or VFX experience is a plus.

Rendering Core Technology Engineer

Dublin, CA

Sanzaru Games Inc. has an immediate Rendering Engineer position working on virtual reality, next-generation console, and PC games. Only developers who want to craft immersive experiences, bring artists’ visions to life, and push the technical boundaries on the most demanding platforms should apply.

Responsibilities:

• Interface with Artists, Gameplay Engineers and Designers to realize immersive gaming experiences without sacrificing performance in Unreal 4
• Work alongside Technical Directors to determine development guidelines, asset guidelines and best practices to push the limits of mobile hardware rendering
• Establish a close working relationship with artistic leadership to determine and fine-tune asset limitations in a mobile rendering environment
• Work closely with individual artists to properly communicate technical constraints, tooling, and issues with assets
• Help enforce best practice coding standards laid out by studio leadership
• Utilize, or develop when necessary, tooling required to gather, discuss and address performance issues
• Debug and optimize and engine rendering systems, shaders, and related tooling
• Thinking creatively and critically to expand user experiences into new mediums
• Working closely with other engineers to contribute to game architecture and technical design when necessary

Experience/Skills:

• Experience in Unreal Engine 4 architecture, mobile rendering, tile deferred rendering, and related tooling
• Proficient in OpenGL, Vulcan, DirectX, and C++
• At least 5 years of industry experience
• At least 1 shipped Unreal Engine title with ownership over rendering and performance optimizations
• Expert 2D/3D math skills
• Familiarity with Unreal Engine material editor and related optimization techniques
• Expertise in mobile rendering optimization
• Comfortable in a wide range of rendering technologies (i.e. mobile, real-time PBR, and everything in between)
• Ability to collaborate with artists, designers, and other engineering team members to bring gameplay to life
• BS Computer Science or equivalent experience

Junior Gameplay Engineer

Dublin, CA

• Working in existing gameplay systems to realize design team vision

• Quickly iterating over gameplay systems based on team input

• Debugging and optimizing gameplay systems

• Proficient in C++

• Strong 2D/3D math skills

Producer

Dublin, CA

Sanzaru Games is looking for an experienced Producer to work across multi-disciplinary teams, both internal and external, to deliver our next Virtual Reality and AAA projects.

Responsibilities:

• Manage project schedules with the knowledge and ability to highlight priorities, dependencies, and risks

• Work closely with the leads to align workflow, facilitate communication, and reduce bottlenecks

• Communicate expectations and dependencies across multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring smooth delivery of milestones

• Track project progress and maintain awareness of team status

• Take ownership of the deliverables, ensuring builds do not compromise on the quality bar

• Collaborate with internal and external partners, such as, but not limited to Localization, IGC, Audio, Story, and QA teams

• Generate build notes for delivery to the Publisher and QA teams

Experience/Skills:

• 4+ years of industry experience working on various gaming platforms

• Working knowledge of the game development cycle and have been through at least one full cycle

• Experience managing Jira projects

• Good with MS Office products

• Familiar with Perforce or other version control software

• Proactive, self-motivated, organized, and detail oriented

Level Designer

Sanzaru Games is looking for talented Level Designers. Level Designers are responsible for the creation of exciting and evocative gameplay experiences—from concept and prototyping, observed playtesting and iteration, all the way to final implementation.

Designers work closely with all disciplines to help ensure game levels have fun scenarios, are well-composed and navigable, and are well integrated into the game’s overarching narrative and vision. We are interested in all levels of experience, from junior to senior level designers. Only designers with the passion and talent for creating engaging and memorable game worlds need apply.

Responsibilities:

• Design and establish a detailed level plan from paper to 3D block out and final art implementation

• Work closely with design leadership to ensure levels hit important narrative and game mechanics beats

• Level scripting and setup using script-based languages like UE4 blueprint

• Collaborate with Environment Artists to create a level’s feel and overall composition

• Manage all design-related assets and data associated with each assigned level

• Help establish level design pipelines and help the team adhere to best practices

Systems Designer

Sanzaru Games is looking for talented Systems Designers. Systems Designers are responsible for the design of expansive and engaging game-wide features, turning high-level concepts into detailed rules and models that form the core game experience. Examples of typical systems that designers may work on include artificial intelligence (AI), character progression, playable/non-playable character mechanics, in-game economies, and combat.

Systems Designers work closely with all disciplines (especially the art and engineering teams) to design, implement, and balance game mechanics to a high degree of polish. We are interested in all levels of experience, from junior to senior designers.

Responsibilities:

• Conceptualize and drive designs from paper to final system architecture

• Level scripting and setup using script-based languages like UE4 Blueprint

• Collaborate with Gameplay Engineers on developing global gameplay mechanics

• Work within the design team to support global and level-specific systems needs

• Author system documentation for circulation within the studio and with development partners

• Employ rapid prototypes, implement and present regular onscreen deliverables of all systems

• Evaluate features needed to improve and streamline implementation of gameplay systems

• Gather and act on game balance feedback with the aim of creating the best experience for all players

Experience/Skills:

• 2+ years of industry experience working in games a plus

• Hardcore gamer and daily gaming enthusiast

• Combat and character mechanics: knowledge of game animation and game feel a big plus!

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or other demonstrable skill at organizing large datasets
